Blury Scenes

Today I spent my time by downloading some songs. As I go through the Tube to search for Lacrimosa Choir (sejak bila aku minat classical muzik nih?) I came through to a song called Blue Jeans by Blur. Actually, I've used to be the fan of Blur since 1994. The first time I heard of them in Megahits, song entitled Boys and Girls. Masa tuh tak de laa nak minat sangat sebab muzik britpop (mix of Alternative rock, Indie rock, Indie pop and Madchester) baru nak naik kat Malaysia. After watched Girls and Boys video clips, terus jatuh chenta. Ala, biasa laa...muda remaja time tuh. Tak boleh tengok artis hensem langsung...

Blur consist of Damon Albarn (singer), Graham Coxon (guitar), Alex James (bass) and Dave Rowntree (deram). Yang paling hensen tentulah Damon Albarn dan kadang2 Graham pun hensem jugak. Hoho! Ohh ya, Graham is the person who is responsible to start an image by wearing the biggy speactacles (spek besar hitam) as the alternative image. At first I adore them because of the looks but after bought Parklife album (masa tuh zaman kaset, nak beli cd tak mampu lagik), I became their true fan (true konon). During the time, Oasis band, too is one of the best Britpop band: which their music I also adore. So, both of the band enter the so called Battle of The Britpop. And what I've heard, Blur won in Britain and lost the album selling in US. Masa tuh jugak laa timbul band Britpop yang lain such as Suede (antara yang 1st), Pulp and Supergrass.

Not quite the best. But still catchy...

After Parklife, when I heard the band released The Great Escape, biasa laa...cepat2 ler beli. In the album, I really love their 1st single, Country House. Agak catchy laa. After made some research, I found out I missed their previous album, Modern Life is Rubbish. That was their 2nd album actually. Nak carik yang 1st-Leisure susah laa...Kena order. So, I searched the album at Komtar, in an underground music store. Lagu black metal berlambak laa (masa tuh BM masih dihalalkan). Cari punya cari, jumpa jugak. In the album I really fall in love with Blue Jeans song. Hmm...bila dengar lagu ni balik rasa macam nak belajar gitar balik (aku belajar sekerat jalan, takat nak bawak lagu Zombie buleh laa).

Blue Jeans: sempoi ahh. Nyanyi pakai t-shirt je. Tak yah nak bling2...


Country House

Then, I bought 13 (sebab ada 13 lagu), which I think not as good as their previous albums. Biasa laa, nak merundum. Nak masuk zaman kejatuhan. Then the album called Blur came. One of the song, Song 2 made it as the biggest hit in the US, reached number six in the Billboard (source: Wikipedia). Due to its catchy chorus, mainly the word "Woohoo," it has been licensed worldwide on numerous occasions. Its first and most notable appearance came as the title music for the hit video game FIFA '98 (kalau sapa-sapa pernah main game nih laa).

Last but not least, I bought the album Blur: The Best of. Dalam ni lagu-lagu yang best semua ada laa. But I didn't bought their last album, Tink Tank because I think it's not worth it. Ntah ler kenapa. Masa tuh teknologi download mp3 haram dah ada kot. I couldn't remember where did I put the albums after not driving the Kelisa anymore. Probably my husband put all the albums in the store room and exchange it with nasyid's song. Huuuuuu....(bayangkan macam mana aku dengan Encik Al Malik boleh serasi padahal minat kami dalam bidang seni agak berbeza---bak kata LJ, love is blind).

Now they are heading their own way but they reunite by doing performance here and there. Graham Coxon somewhat went for solo and Damon Albarn was (and still) the voice of the band Gorillaz. Haa, sapa tatau tuh dah tau laa kan?

So, I'm trying to download, not all but all the sedap2 one. Boleh pasang dalam kereta...aler, teknologi keretaku sudah canggeh!!!

* I could not find Country House's VC due to the copyright hape ntah. Kedekut!
